Reach the top of mount Fløien directly from the town centre during 5—8 minutes by funicular. Or jump on the funicular if you get weary walking up hill.
Fløyen offers spectacular view of the town, only 10 minutes from the town center by funicular, or an hour by foot.
Ulriken mountain is easily accessible by bus from the town centre to the cable car line, running up hill to the top. Or you might hike up or down—or both.
The hike to the top of Mount Ulriken (643 meters above sea level) is pleasant in nice weather. There are several paths, but the one shown here is the shortest and easiest accessible, although quite steep close to the top.
From Fjellveien i Sandviken, a well prepared but rather steep row of stairs takes you all the way up to Sandviksfjellet, with a very nice view of the fjord and the town.
Løvstakken is the friendly mountain south-west of the town centre. It is easily accessible by foot from the town centre, but if you don’t have plenty of time, you could spare 30 minutes by going to Danmarks Plass by Bybanen light rail.
